BROTHERS IN ART

Inspiration

1886-1888
Vincent Van Gogh arrives unexpectedly in Paris, moving into the apartment of his brother Théodorus in rue Lepic. At the Van Gogh art is a family fair. Théo encourages his brother to become a painter. He presents Vincent, who will become the man of a thousand paintings, with the singular, but at that time disparaged, group of artists that liked to gather in Montmartre: Pissarro, Renoir, Monnet, Sisley, Gauguin. An artistic turning point for Van Gogh who, from that point, undertakes new paths of light colourful painting. Impressionism.
