SAKOUNTALA

SAKOUNTALA

Inspiration

1888
The boulevard d’Italie ateliers in Paris are home to the extraordinary story of love and creation of Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel. Apprentice, mistress and muse of the artist, Camille Claudel is a brilliant, impassioned woman imprinted with perfection. Very quickly the master sculptor appears overwhelmed by his talented student. A face to face for four hands where feelings are equal to the high demands of an art as sublime as it is di"cult. Inspired by an Indian legend, the muse is emancipated and tells her story with Rodin by creating the powerful Sakountala.
