Following directions from historical sources, at the archaeological site of the city of Pompeii, experts have finally found the long-awaited street Via dei Profumieri. Via degli Augustali connects Via Stabiana with Via del Foro. Along this road, 3 shops were found, numbered 26, 27 and 28, where perfumes were produced.
Perfumers organized a guild, which was based nearby. From Via degli Augustali, on the top floor of the Macellum. With the help of spices brought by Roman sailors from the ports of Pozzuoli and Ostia, imported from the eastern provinces, perfumers gave life to aromatic ointments stored in glass bottles, terracotta or alabaster containers.
Trusting the inspiration of master perfumers, we have reinterpreted the fragrances of that time in a modern way, and created a collection designed to revive the richness and grandeur of the culture that left an indelible mark on human history.
